Types of services provided
CIT provides a number of services that are structured, operated and priced differently. An outline of each of the services is given below.
Non Drinking Water customers are supplied with water for use in and around the house. The water we supply is non-potable, not filtered or treated, and should not be consumed directly. All Non Drinking Water consumers have water available on demand and are not required to order their water or own a water allocation to account for their water use. Water supply can be interrupted during routine maintenance or breakdowns and to cater for such times it is recommended that Non Drinking Water customers have seven days on site storage.
Industrial water service
Industrial customers are supplied with water for use in processing which produces goods and items for sale. All industrial customers have water available on demand and are not required to order their water or own a water allocation to account for their use. CIT may also be able to assist industrial customers with water for firefighting purposes but this will need to be assessed on individual cases.
Parks and Ovals water service
Parks and Ovals customers are generally not for profit organisations such as government departments, community groups, or sporting complexes, that water ovals and parks. Parks and gardens customers also have both peak and off peak tariffs available. Peak times are 7.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday. Other times outside this are classified as off-peak including public holidays. Customers who use water in off peak times need to order water before use. Customers using water during peak times will have water on demand and are not required to order their water, however a price premium will be paid. Parks and Ovals customers are not required to own a water allocation to account for their use.
Irrigation water service
Irrigation customers are supplied with water for use to irrigate crops. Water is not available on demand and must be ordered prior to use. Irrigators are required to have a water allocation which entitles them to use a specific amount of water on their property. Irrigation customers also have both peak and off peak water tariffs available. Irrigation customers with a house on the property must also have a Non Drinking Water connection for each house unless that house is supplied by SA Water.
