Buy/Sell Water

Water is an asset that can be sold temporarily (allocation trade) or permanently (entitlement trade). As the owner of the bulk water licence, CIT is party to all transactions undertaken by CIT customers.

Temporary trade between CIT accounts

To temporarily trade water between CIT accounts, the following form must be completed:

Trade water between a CIT account and a Private Licence

To temporarily trade water between a CIT account and a Private Licence, the following forms must be completed:

Permanent Trade

To permanently trade water, the following forms must be completed:

Form B – Application for Permanent Trade of Irrigation Rights 2324Download

If you are selling the permanent water ‘wet’ (ie with the seasonal allocation), you also need to complete the temporary trade form as well:

CIT runs a Water Exchange service to facilitate the sale and purchase of tradeable rights
